Brian Cox CHAIRMAN AND CEO

Mr. Cox is an accomplished entrepreneur growing best-in-class companies for over 19 years, including building a company of over 1,300 employees. He began his career in telecom in 2004 when he founded his first prepaid telephone company (CLEC), which, through organic growth and acquisition, became the largest prepaid home phone company in the country before being sold in 2009. Since then, Mr. Cox has owned and directed over $500 million in sales from his fintech/software and telecom companies by utilizing his expertise in underserved consumer markets.

Jeremy Gies PRESIDENT, SURGEPAYS, INC.

Most recently, Gies served as Senior Channel Business Manager and Senior Account Manager for Honeywell Voice Solutions for nearly four years. Previously, he was Vice President, Business Development, for global e-payments company Wave Crest Payment Services. For nearly five years, he served first as Executive Vice President and then CEO of telSPACE, a provider of billing and back-office solutions for the MVNO/NVNE marketplace. He started his career with AT&T Wireless where, over a 10-year period, he rose through the ranks in early sales positions to Western Area Sales Manager and ultimately National Sales Manager. Gies is also a partner and co-founder of Blue Horizon Group, a business consulting company providing outsourced sales, business development, marketing, distribution, operations and logistics services to the wireless industry.

Anthony Evers, CPA, CIA CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Mr. Evers is a talented and seasoned financial executive with over 30 years of proven financial and consulting experience. Mr. Evers has served as CFO and CIO for a variety of organizations, including non-profit, private-equity-backed, and publicly traded companies ranging from $100 million to over $1.3 billion in annual revenue. Most recently, he served as Chief Financial Officer for Vista Health System. Mr. Evers also successfully obtained his Certified Public Accountant and Certified Internal Auditor credentials.

David Ansani, J.D. MBA DIRECTOR OF LEGAL/HUMAN RESOURCES SERVICES

Mr. Ansani has a background in legal compliance, negotiation, finance, due diligence and audit. David is a corporate expert specializing in administrative back-office accountability while assisting in general business compliance aspects including mergers and acquisitions. He earned a Master of Business Administration in Strategic Management/Organizational & Managerial Behavior from the University of Chicago and Juris Doctor from IIT/Chicago-Kent School of Law.

John Mott CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER

Thirty plus years of software development experience which includes a diverse skill set including an early operating systems programming background in C/C++ and Assembler. For the last 15 years John has focused on web technologies, C#, .NET, MVC, MSSQL, PHP/MySQL, JavaScript, AJAX, JSON and Jquery with the most recent focus on Blockchain technologies, Digital Assets and distributed ledgers with regards to real world applications.

Carter Matzinger CHIEF STRATEGIC OFFICER OF LOGICSIQ

Mr. Matzinger is a results-driven entrepreneur for over 25 years focusing on the online and mobile marketing industry. He holds a deep insight into the world of online marketing, including content development, emailing, social media, and performance-based marketing such as CPA, PPC, and CPI. Carter has launched and deployed custom built software, led tech and marketing teams to grow different marketing verticals.

David May DIRECTOR

Mr. May has been a banking professional since 1994 and has established himself as one of the leading convenience store and convenience store wholesaler financiers in the Mid-South through his cultivation of personal relationships. He has been Senior Vice-President of Commercial Banking since 2007 with Landmark Community Bank, a billion-dollar Memphis-based commercial bank, and a bank officer for both community banks and large regional banks over his 27-year banking career.

David N. Keys DIRECTOR

Mr. Keys began his career with Deloitte serving in the audit group. David was the Executive Vice President, CFO, and member of the executive committee of the Board of Directors of American Pacific, a chemical company that was publicly traded on the NASDAQ for many years. He has served various boards, including Wells Fargo Bank of Nevada. Mr. Keys is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA), Certified Information Technology Professional (CITP), and Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF).

Laurie Weisberg DIRECTOR

Ms. Laurie Weisberg joins SurgePays’ Board with over 30 years of experience in digital technology, data, and marketing services senior management. Previously, she had been involved in several companies across the technology industry, holding positions including Chief Executive Officer, Chief Sales Officer, Chief Revenue Officer, and board member.   From July 2020 through September 2022, Ms. Weisberg was the Chief Executive Officer for Creatd, Inc., a technology and creator services company. From February 2019 to Jul 2020, she was Chief Sales Officer for Intent, Inc., a company involved in data and digital media advertising. From January 2018 to February 2019, she was Chief Revenue Officer of Thrive Inc., a technology company founded by Arianna Huffington that focused on a new technology platform for health and wellness in the workplace. Before that role, Ms. Weisberg spent six years at Oracle from October 2010 to October 2017, leading commercial for their new data business unit that acquired her previous company for a 31X ROI for private investors. Ms. Weisberg is also the Chief Commercial Officer of Whalar inc, a creator commerce company helping creators, social platforms, and brands drive growth. As part of Creatd, Ms. Weisberg served on the Board as director.

Richard Schurfeld DIRECTOR

Rich Schurfeld joins SurgePays’ Board, having founded Redsson over 20 years ago and where he currently serves as CEO. Redsson has been a sector leader in software-based telecom billing and management while evolving into a Software as a Service (SaaS) product, mainly providing solutions involving the intricacies of public records information. Mr. Schurfeld is a creative-thinking entrepreneur who successfully procures market solutions through the take-charge initiative. Prior to founding Redsson, Mr. Schurfeld worked at Dean Witter enabling him to earn securities licenses 7, 6, 65, 3 and gain valuable experience in the US securities markets. Early in his career, Mr. Schurfeld spent time in the USAF, first as a cadet at the US Air Force Academy and later active duty. Post-military he was first a player, and then later served on the coaching staff of the USA Rugby Men’s National Team including two Rugby World Cups.
